“...You keep your covenant with your people and show them your love when they live in wholehearted obedience to you. You have kept the promise you made to my father David; today every word has been fulfilled” (1 Kings 8:23-24 GNB).

By His grace, the 12th Extraordinary Council Meetings of the Church, held at the Pentecost University College, Sowutuom, under the theme, ‘The God of the Living is My God for Today’, have ended successfully. I am, therefore, pleased to communicate to you some of the decisions arrived at during the meetings.

Creation of Areas

Achimota, Suame  and Accra New Town Areas have been created, with effect from September, 2009.

 a.   Achimota Area:

     Achimota Area has been created out of La, Kaneshie, Madina and Suhum Areas. The Districts constituting the Area are Achimota (Area Seat), Taifa, Pokuase, Amasaman Worship Centre, New Achimota Worship Centre, Agbogbloshie Worship Centre, Dome, NOM - Fadama, Tesano Worship Centre and Medie.

 b.   Suame Area:

     Suame Area has been created out of Kumasi New Tafo Area. It comprises the following Districts: Suame (Area Seat), Bremang, Bremang Extension, Bohyen, Afrancho, Asuofua, Barekese, Offinso West, Offinso East, Ahenkro, Tetrem, Abofuor South, Abofuor North, Nkenkensu, Akomadan, Akomadan-Afrancho and Kodie.

c.    Re-demarcation and Re-organisation of La Area

The creation of the Accra New Town Area from La Area has necessitated the re-demarcation and re-organisation of La Area into Kpeeshie and Accra New Town Areas. For convenience, proximity, and the fact that the residual La Area will have most of the Districts around Teshie and Nungua, the existing La Area Mission House and Area Office shall remain with the emerging Accra New Town Area; and Apostle Francis Ofori-Yeboah shall be in charge. The remaining La Area has, therefore, been re-named Kpeeshie Area. Below are the Districts which shall constitute the respective Areas:

        i.  Accra New Town Area:

Accra New Town (Area Seat), Merry Villas, Maamobi, Abelemkpe, Alajo, Nima, PIWC – English, PIWC – French, NOM - Nima, Adabraka, Roman Ridge, Dothan Worship Centre, and Kotobabi Worship Centre. 

       ii. Kpeeshie Area:

La (Seat), Nungua East, Nungua West, Nungua South, Teshie East, Teshie West, PIWC - Burma Camp, Osu, and Baatsona.

Dismissals

a)    Pastor B. Kumi Yeboah of Abeka District has been dismissed from the full time ministry of the Church for gross misconduct and ministerial indiscretion.

 b)   Overseer Emmanuel Akay of Buipe District has been dismissed from the full time ministry of the Church for gross ministerial misconduct.

Appointment to Finance Board

Elder Emmanuel Asante, Area Deacon of Madina Area, has been appointed a member of the Finance Board. He replaces Elder Osei Antwi who has successfully served his term.

Elder Franklin Opoku has been appointed the Financial Manager of the Church to replace Elder Emmanuel Ackom, who has resigned.

Retirement, Farewell, and Welcome Services

It has been decided that, forthwith, specific dates shall be designated for the farewell, welcome and retirement services of ministers in the Church. Accordingly, the following arrangements have been made for the farewell, welcome and retirement services of ministers in Ghana:

             August 16, 2009            -        Retirement of Area Heads

             August 23, 2009            -        Transfer of District Pastors

             August 30, 2009            -        Transfer of Area Heads

             September 20, 2009      -        Welcome of Area Heads
